In September
2004, Mercy Family Medicine relocated to a brand new Family
Practice Center located 5 to 10 minutes from St. John's Mercy
Medical Center. The facility is larger than before and is
state-of-the-art, featuring a wireless EMR, onsite radiology,
lab, pharmacy, physical therapy and dietary services.
We see
on average 30,000 patients per year in our office. Our patient
population includes approximately 60% managed care, 15% Medicare,
and 10% Medicaid. A large volume of patient contact with our staff
is via telephone. We also utilize patient-physician messaging
via a secure web site.
Our staff
take an active role in teaching the residents, especially
contributing as part of the practice management curriculum.
Some of our staff members have been part of Mercy Family Medicine
for 5 to 10 years.
